Are your beliefs actually yours?
Our beliefs are powerful and have the potential to push us further or hold us back.
Most of our beliefs are formed before we are 7 yrs old from our caregivers, whether that be a parent figure, childcare, school and family and their beliefs came from the people who bought them up and so on.
We accept these beliefs (good or bad) as the truth as they have come from people we instinctively trust. These beliefs become hardwired into our brain, we look for evidence that these beliefs are true and this then influences our day to day life both in childhood and as an adult.
If you were told we weren't good enough, that is what you will believe. You will then look for evidence to back this up. You will think of everything that didn't work out for you and every negative comment you have been told related to this belief and it will become your truth.
If you were told you can conquer the world, that's what you will believe. You will think of every action you have taken and achieved at being a leader and having success and this will be the evidence you need to enhance and cement in your belief that you CAN conquer the world. Our brain only knows what we tell it, so tell it great things!
One really important thing to remember about beliefs; beliefs are NOT fact. Belief is a noun and its meaning, as stated in the Cambridge Dictionary, is 'the feeling of being certain that something exists or is true'. A FEELING, so guess what, if you have negative beliefs, it is 100% possible to change that belief to a different positive one.
