When a child wants to leave the table, what is one of the most common things said to them? 

 

'’Clean your plate’', '’Finish all your food’’, '’There's no more food once you get down’'.

 

We encourage children to eat what they have been given even if they are full up and this is the lesson a lot of us are brought up with. Instead we should be encouraging children to listen to their bodies. As adults we eat way more than we need to and we usually fill ourselves up at each meal, sometimes even feeling bloated and uncomfortable when we leave the table. What if we took the time to do what children do and listen to our body. Children use their intuition and naturally know when they have had enough. We can tune into our intuition or just practise my exercise in the membership to learn when you need to eat and when you need to stop eating.
